This mix is special in its own right, as all tracks were sourced from http://www.xlr8r.com/ whose taste and insight I’ve found especially useful throughout the year. Ten of the eleven tracks are from artists I’d not heard of before September, and that’s incredibly awesome. Finding this kind of great music and sharing it is what we love to do.

International Radio Festival – 010 – mix
This is the first of the mixes to incorporate vinyl, and in this case, it’s the entirety of the music of the podcast. It took a number of tries, and many hours, to get a satisfactory result, which I now present to you.
Again, this is for a contest, one which I’m having a great time participating in, and I hope you enjoy the mix:
Nerd Show on Groovement – Dreamy
I cranked out this mix on a nice, dreamy afternoon a month ago or so. It was pretty fun to jam something out fast using the experience I’d gained doing the IRF mixes.
Check it out, and SHARE IT if you like it.
International Radio Festival – 009 – Mix
This is a snipping from the close of the show on November 8. It’s just under 30 minutes and has five tracks and Dave talking between the second and closing out the recording and the show. This one is a bit different, and shows the live vibe of the show, so it’s less technical, but there is some mixing going on so look for that.
International Radio Festival – 008 – Mix
This one is chock full of four-to-the-floor tunes, either for dancing or just bobbing/tapping along to. Really fun one, so do please enjoy!
International Radio Festival – 007 – mix
This one is jammed full of hip-hop beats with both lyrical brilliance and instrumental prowess. Great fun from start to finish.
Internation Radio Festival – 006 – Mix
This is one FUNKY mix. I have a lot of Funk, Soul, Reggae, Latin, and some Hip-Hop woven in to this neat and energetic mix. Great fun to produce and I’m hoping you’ll enjoy it as much as I did making it, if not more.
International Radio Festival – 005 – Mix
Yet another in this series, this mix is higher energy than any yet and it has some really awesome sounds.
International Radio Festival – 004 – Mix
This one is the first of those I’ve done that is more cohesive. The previous mixes have been very fun, and showcase the distinct differences in sounds Nerd Show appreciates. This mix is a bit higher BPM overall, but is also the calmest or most even-tempered of the four so far. It’s lovely.
Nerd Show – Turn Over – Mix on Groovement
I’m really proud of this one because it was certainly the most intimidating thing I’ve ever done.
The following mix was done live on turntables using the original vinyl recordings. It is a 45-minute exercise in concentration, determination, and 80s/90s Hip-Hop.
NOTE: some cursing, not obscene
This set was mixed on a Technics SL-1210M3D and Numark TT100 turntable, both with Shure M44-7 cartridges in Technics headshells going through a Stanton mixer. Recording was done with Audacity in Ubuntu 12.10LTS.
